Rental Property Electrical Safety Check

From 29th March 2021, under new legislation in the Victorian Residential Tenancies Act, residential rental providers must undertake mandatory electrical and gas safety checks every two years, as well as annual smoke alarm checks.

Electrical safety checks every 2 years of all electrical appliances, fixtures & fittings such as
switchboards, power points and light switches

Smoke alarm servicing each year including testing, battery replacement and positioning checks

• Replace all faulty or expired smoke alarms

• Multiple test for sound, location/ placement, damage

• Replace smoke alarm batteries when required

• Compliance certificate and audit report showing in detail work done including photos of smoke alarms

• Check & Services of all landlord supplied Electrical Appliances

• Thorough switchboard inspection to ensure RCD's (safety Switches) are installed and operational.
